Week 14
This week, we learnt about product sketches. We learned that sketching or drawing is a key technique for creative expression in product design. It is considered the principal approach through which product designers externalise a product’s design concepts. Sketches or drawings enhance understanding and provide visual clues for possible further refinements and revisions of the product. First off, we start with warming up by drawing straight lines, curves, circles and ellipses. We were then tasked to draw one-point perspective drawing of a milk carton. A one-point perspective drawing means that the drawing has a single vanishing point, usually directly opposite the viewer's eye and usually on the horizon line. All lines parallel with the viewer's line of sight recede to the horizon towards this vanishing point. We were then tasked to draw a two-point perspective drawing of a book.
